Dr. Chijioke MAMA is a Transaction Advisor and the Managing Director of Meiracopp Nigeria Limited (MNL). He is also the Special Adviser on Strategy and Policy to the Chairman of the Governing Board at the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA). He has been working in the Oil, Gas and Power sectors for over a decade and has led & participated in diverse Advisory and Project Implementation tasks in Nigeria, Africa, Europe and North America. In addition to several engagements in Renewable Energy development, his most recent engagements have been in Natural Gas Commercialization Advisory, and Financial Advisory for upstream and midstream project development, including raising Debt and Equity Capital.


Most recently, he has developed Gas Handling & Commercialization Strategy for several fields in Nigeria. Dr. Mama has built detailed commercial & financial business cases for Ammonia/Urea plants, Natural Gas Liquids [NGLs], and Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) technologies in Nigeria, some of which have CAPEX amounts reaching USD 1.3 billion. He has facilitated & arranged project development capital for upstream and midstream projects, running into hundreds of millions of dollars. He has been the gas Commercial Advisor for two major gas-turbines OEM brands in Nigeria & is currently (2021) retained as Natural Gas Commercial advisor for four Nigerian companies, in addition to Financial Advisory roles for Nigerian E & P companies. His analytical works and opinion are frequently syndicated on local & global business publications, having worked on projects in the Oil, Gas, Power & Industrial sectors in Nigeria, United Kingdom, The US and several other countries, including Ivory Coast and Kenya.


He has been a speaker at several global energy fora, including the EU-Africa Renewable Energy Cooperation Program (RECP); The Energy Access Panel at the 2017 Commonwealth Africa Summit in London and the maiden African Marginal Oil Field Development Conference in London, where he discussed policy frameworks for supporting small oil field development in Africa’s hydrocarbon economies. He has been a discussant at the German-Nigerian Business Forum, where he discussed strategies for kick starting a Hydrogen Economy in Nigeria. Dr. Mama has an MBA (Management) from the University of Lagos, Nigeria and a Doctorate in Business Administration from the University of Port Harcourt. He is currently enrolled (2022) in a Finance Diploma program at the University of Lagos. He has also been a participant in the Sloan Foundation's capacity building program on Power Systems & Technology at the Colorado School of Mines in the US. His core areas of expertise include; Energy, Finance, Natural Resources and Infrastructure Development. He also has expertise in future energy adoption and utilization.
